In the world that we live in today, this question needs to be settled. We seem to trust in what temporarily calms our fears, or what has worked in the past. A true trust is found in the Word of God. Trust means absolute confidence in the word of another. Whose words will not fail.
Some trust in the government, their job, their family, their wealth, their church denomination, their friends, or their own ability to save them. People put their trust in a lot things that are temporal. However, there is a strong warning in Jeremiah, about where we should put our trust. In Jeremiah 17:5 [amp.] says, 'Thus says the Lord: "Cursed (with great evil) is the strong man who trusts in and relies on frail man, making weak (human) flesh his arm, and whose mind and heart turn aside from the Lord.' This verse is talking about someone who knows the Lord, but has chosen to turn away from trusting in God. When circumstances give us the option not to step out in faith upon the promises of God; we now have a choice. At this point we can either do it the world's way or God's way. For example, we say God is our source, yet we go to the bank for another loan or make another purchase on credit. Instead of obeying God's steps, we choose the easy way out. The person who does will put themselves into a vulnerable position, and may experience the curse in their life. However, Jeremiah 17:7-8 [amp.] says, '[Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, that spreads out its roots by the river; and he shall see and fear when heat comes; but his leaf shall be green. He shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall he cease yielding fruit.' We see that trust in God will produce peace, abundance, freedom from fear, and prosperity in the midst of hard times. These blessings of trust in God, far outweigh anything the world can give. Let these verses be your reality check. For where you choose to put your trust, will affect your life. The Word of God is true and trustworthy. Psalm 18:30 [amp.] says, 'As for God, His way is perfect. The word of the Lord is tested and tried; He is a shield to all those who take refuge and put their trust in Him.' For centuries God's word has always worked for those who put their trust in Him. The earth and sun were created by God's words. See Genesis chapter one. We are not staying up at night worrying if the sun is going to come up in the morning. We subconsciously trust that it will. And it does, because God said "Light be!" We should put this same trust in what God's word says about our health, finances and family. The benefits of trusting in God include blessing, protection, strength and salvation. The Lord has blessed us with heavenly blessings. Proverbs 28:25 [amp.] says'.....But he who puts his trust in the Lord shall be enriched and blessed.' He has also given us divine protection. Psalms 91:4 says, 'He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings shall you trust; His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.' He has also given us supernatural strength and salvation. Isaiah 12:2 says, 'Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation.' God and His benefits are unlimited. Trusting in God, is a key to bringing these benefits into manifestation in your life. There are some anxious days coming on the earth. Do not let circumstances pressure or dictate, where you put your trust. Isaiah 26:3 says, 'You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Him: because he trusts in God.' Trust in God and His word to uphold you, and you will live on the victorious side of life! In First Corinthians 15:57 it says, 'But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.' I trust God with my all!
